Are you the next Fairest of the Fair
for the Northern Wisconsin State Fair? You could be! Thank you for your interest in the 13th annual Northern Wisconsin State Fair Fairest of the Fair competition.
The purpose of the Fairest of the Fair program is to promote the enormous variety of opportunities – educational, agricultural, social, cultural and commercial – available at the Northern Wisconsin State Fair.
If you are selected as Northern Wisconsin State Fair Fairest of the Fair, you are the official ambassador of the Fair and will represent the Northern Wisconsin State Fair at various activities throughout the year. You will compete at the Wisconsin State Fairest of the Fair competition to be held in early January at Chula Vista in Wisconsin Dells. You could become the next Wisconsin State Fairest of the Fair representing all Fairs in the State of Wisconsin.
If selected as the 2020 Northern Wisconsin State Fair Fairest of the Fair, you will work with the Fairest committee to attend events and functions throughout our community. A schedule of appearances will be provided to you at a later date. The Fairest term is for one year, from the date of coronation, January 1, 2021 through the 2022 Wisconsin Association of Fairs - Fairest competition.
The following skills are essential to perform the duties of Fairest. You must be devoted to the Fair, poised, mature, out-going, articulate, and sensitive to all types of people. You may be required to be out in the elements for long hours while being pleasant to guests. With reference to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), please let us know if you will need accommodations, such as reasonable modifications or adjustments for this process.
You must be able to adapt to any situation and be dependable and professional in the performance of your duties. Appropriate cell phone and social networking etiquette should be maintained at all times during your role as Fairest of the Fair. The position will be challenging and as rewarding as you make it. We seek candidates who are exemplary in their line of study and who have a passion for the Fair, continued education and service to our community.
Compensation to the Fairest is a $1,000 continuing education scholarship from the Northern Wisconsin State Fair Association, Inc. To receive this scholarship, you must complete a semester of college level school and present your passing grade report for the first semester and proof of enrollment for the following semester. Upon completion and provided to the Fair office, a check will be issued to you and the school you are attending. This continuing educational scholarship may be postponed for 2 years with approval by the Northern Wisconsin State Fair Association.
You may mail or drop your application off, now or before the due date, at the Northern Wisconsin State Fair's main office, 225 Edward Street, Chippewa Falls. Applications are due to the Fair Office no later than Thursday, October 1st, 2020.
