Differences between the Competition Categories

Junior Division Exhibits
All exhibitors in the Junior Division must reside in or be members of a recognized youth organization consisting of two or more families, located in Chippewa County under adult leadership, have an educational program appropriate to the department(s) entered, and approved by the NWSF Fair Board.

Open Division Exhibits
As a regional fair, open division exhibitors can reside in any state or county and be of any age.

School Exhibits
School Exhibits are open to Chippewa County Public, Private Schools, and Homeschool Groups. Entries are completed by students and are registered and submitted by school staff. Because school exhibits are not required to pay an exhibit registration entry fee, school exhibitors do not receive a complimentary Fair season admission pass.

Lego Pre-Build Contest
Primarily focused on a family-friendly event, this contest is open to anyone. A theme will be presented late-Spring and registration is completed at entry drop-off.

NWSF Fairest of the Fair
The Northern Wisconsin State Fair Fairest of the Fair and Attendant serve as the ambassadors of the Fair at events including area events, parades, and the Wisconsin State Fair. The application and interview process happens annually each Fall.
